Product Identity

The Brocade FCX624S-F-ADV is a managed 1U rackmount switch with 24 ports operating at 10/100/1000Mbps plus two 16Gbps stacking ports. It ships with one RPS13 power supply and a 0.5m stacking cable under an advanced software licence.

Installation Notes

The unit mounts in a standard rack and weighs 8.82lb, so a single technician can handle it. The included 0.5m stacking cable only reaches adjacent units, and the advanced licence must be activated before all management features become available.

Target Audience

This switch suits network teams that need a managed 24-port Gigabit layer with stacking in a compact 1U form factor. It does not suit buyers who require copper-only uplinks, longer stacking cables, redundant power supplies out of the box, or higher port densities.

Questions about this item

How can I confirm the 24-port 10/100/1000 managed switch is operating correctly after rack installation?

Verify the management interface shows all twenty-four ports at the expected speed and that the stacking links report sixteen Gbps each.

What ships with the unit and what must I source separately?

The box includes one RPS13 power supply and one half-metre stacking cable; additional power supplies, SFP modules and longer stacking cables are not included.

Which licence tier fits a network that needs BGP routing at the edge?

The advanced software licence bundled with this model already includes BGP, so no further licence upgrade is required.
