Purpose-built Layer 3 switch for carrier edge

The Brocade CES-2000 NI-CES-2024C is a managed desktop switch that also supports wall mounting. It delivers IP routing and advanced Carrier Ethernet features such as Provider Backbone Bridging. The platform runs Multi-Service IronWare software inherited from NetIron MLX routers.

Primary port speed defines the connectivity profile

Front-panel ports operate at 10/100/1000Base-T and 100/1000Base-T, providing copper Gigabit links for server access or service delivery. The switch is 10 GbE-capable for uplink or stacking scenarios. Deep buffers help absorb burst traffic at the network edge.

Suits engineers deploying compact Layer 3 access

This unit fits teams needing a 1U form factor with routing and PBB in a single appliance. Buyers who require fibre SFP+ density out of the box or a different port count should evaluate other models.
