A 3/4 thread serger offering versatile stitch options including overlock, narrow hem, rolled hem and ribbon lock stitches at up to 1300 stitches per minute
The Brother 1034DBR is a 3/4 lay-in thread serger designed for home sewing projects. It uses two needles and supports 3/4 thread configurations for overlock and decorative finishes. Color-coded threading guides simplify the setup process. A lower looper threader further reduces threading effort.
This serger suits sewists who want versatile stitch options including 4 thread overlock, 3 thread overlock, narrow hem, rolled hem, and ribbon lock stitches. Differential fabric feed helps manage stretchy or lightweight materials. Presser foot pressure adjustment adds control for varied fabric weights. Buyers who need five-thread safety stitches or coverstitch capabilities should look at other machines.
The stitch width adjusts between 3.00mm and 7.00mm to match different project requirements. Maximum sewing speed reaches 1300 stitches per minute for efficient work. The 2-point thread tension control device provides smoother thread delivery, and each needle tension can be individually adjusted for precise control across thread types.

Raise the presser foot, follow the colour-coded path to the lower looper, then use the built-in lower looper threader to pull the thread through the looper eye; the step most often missed is not raising the presser foot first, which keeps the tension discs closed.
Clean lint from the differential feed area and loopers after each project, oil the moving metal points shown in the manual, and replace needles and the upper cutting blade when stitch quality drops.
The machine runs up to 1300 stitches per minute; sustained operation at that maximum speed is the first limit you will hit on long seams.
