Computerised sewing machine offering 60 built-in stitches, seven one-step buttonholes, an LCD stitch selector, LED lighting and a free arm
The Brother CS5055BR is a computerised sewing machine with 60 unique built-in stitches. An LCD screen handles stitch selection and seven styles of one-step auto-size buttonholes are included. A bright LED lights the work area and an easy needle threading system speeds up setup. A free arm allows cylindrical items such as cuffs and sleeves to be sewn.
This model suits anyone who wants a wide variety of decorative and utility stitches in a single machine. The computerised interface makes stitch changes quick for quilting, garment construction or craft projects. Buyers who need an embroidery field or a larger throat space for big quilts should look at a different class of machine. Industrial users requiring heavy-duty frame construction will also need another solution.
The LCD screen with computerised stitch selection is the specification that decides fit. It replaces mechanical dials with direct digital choice of all 60 stitches and the seven buttonhole styles. If your workflow depends on manual dial control or you only need a handful of basic stitches, a simpler mechanical machine may be preferable.

Raise the needle to its highest position, loosen the needle clamp screw, insert the needle with the flat side facing back, push it up until it stops, then tighten the screw securely.
Replace needles after every project or eight hours of sewing, clean lint from the bobbin area and feed dogs regularly, and oil only if the manual specifies points for your model.
The motor can overheat during extended heavy use, so pause periodically to let it cool and avoid sewing thick layers continuously for long periods.
