Direct thermal desktop label printer producing 4.3in wide labels at 203dpi resolution and 203.20ips speed
The Brother TD4420DNC is a 4.3in direct thermal desktop printer built for inventory, shipping and shelf-label tasks. It suits operations that need reliable monochrome output without the cost or upkeep of ribbon-based systems.
Direct thermal technology means no ribbon mechanism to heat, so the unit runs quietly and draws minimal power during continuous batch printing. The 203 x 203 dpi engine produces crisp barcodes at 203.20 in/s while staying cool enough for extended shifts.
LAN, USB and serial ports let the printer slot into existing PC, Android or iOS workflows without extra adapters. The compact desktop footprint sits on a bench or shelf, and the included AC adapter and USB cable make first setup straightforward.

Open the cover, place the roll on the spindle with labels feeding from the bottom, pull the leading edge past the platen roller, close the cover firmly until it clicks, then run the auto-calibration from the front panel so the printer detects the gap or black mark.
The direct thermal print head is the primary wear item; at 203 dpi resolution it should be cleaned regularly with isopropyl alcohol and replaced when print quality degrades or barcode scan rates drop.
Sustained runs at the maximum 203.20 in/s speed will cause the print head to reach its thermal ceiling first, triggering an automatic pause until the head cools to a safe operating temperature.
