Twin-pack high-yield toner

This twin pack contains two genuine Brother TN850 high-yield black toner cartridges. Each cartridge prints up to 8,000 pages, giving a combined total of up to 16,000 pages. It is designed for Brother DCP-L5500DN, DCP-L5600DN, DCP-L5650DN, HL-L5000D, HL-L5100DN, HL-L5200DW, HL-L5200DWT, HL-L6200DW, HL-L6200DWT, HL-L6250DW, HL-L6300DW, HL-L6400DW, HL-L6400DWT, MFC-L5700DW, MFC-L5800DW and compatible models.

Replaces single-cartridge purchases

Buying the twin pack supplies twice the page yield of a single TN850 cartridge, reducing the frequency of reorders. The jump is worthwhile for offices or workgroups that consistently print high volumes and want to minimise downtime spent replacing consumables. It is not suited for low-volume users who would not use the second cartridge before its shelf life ends.

Drop-in installation

Each cartridge installs directly into the printer’s toner bay without tools or firmware updates. The printer recognises the genuine chip immediately and tracks remaining yield accurately. The most common issue is forgetting to remove the protective sealing tape before insertion, which prevents toner flow and causes blank pages.

Questions about this item

Which Brother printers accept the TN850 cartridges in this twin pack?

The TN850 cartridges work with the DCP-L5500DN, DCP-L5600DN, DCP-L5650DN, HL-L5000D, HL-L5100DN, HL-L5200DW, HL-L5200DWT, HL-L6200DW, HL-L6200DWT, HL-L6250DW, HL-L6300DW, HL-L6400DW, HL-L6400DWT, MFC-L5700DW and MFC-L5800DW.

What is the correct way to install a TN850 cartridge and what step is often missed?

Open the front cover, remove the drum unit, press the green lock lever to release the old cartridge, unpack the new TN850, gently rock it five or six times, remove the protective cover, slide it into the drum until it clicks, then reinsert the drum unit and close the cover.

When will the TN850 cartridges need replacing and what should be done with the empties?

Each cartridge yields up to 8,000 pages, so the twin pack covers up to 16,000 pages; when print quality fades, replace the cartridge and return the used one through Brother's cartridge collection and recycling programme.
