Single-Mode Reach and Temperature Limits

Single-mode fibre carries the signal the full 10 km without repeaters. The transceiver is rated for commercial temperatures from 0 to 70 °C, so it stays within spec in standard data-centre cabinets. Outside that range the laser and receiver may drift, causing link errors or permanent damage. Digital optical monitoring is supported for real-time health checks.
