40 Gbps QSFP+ for short-range links

This transceiver delivers 40 Gbps over multi-mode fibre at an 850 nm wavelength. It fits a standard QSFP+ slot in routers, switches or servers that require 150-metre reach. At 40 Gbps the link is specified for 150 metres on multi-mode fibre. Beyond that distance signal loss exceeds the receiver budget and errors rise. The commercial temperature rating covers typical rack environments but not extended industrial ranges. Buyers needing longer spans or single-mode fibre should select a different wavelength and reach class.
