Industrial SFP Transceiver

The Brute Networks GLC-SX-MM-RGD is a 1000BASE-SX SFP module built for Cisco switches, routers and servers that need a hot-pluggable 1 Gbps link over multi-mode fibre. Network engineers and integrators use it to extend gigabit connectivity to 550 metres at 850 nm in environments where standard commercial optics cannot survive.

Multi-mode Distance Limit

The 850 nm multi-mode interface reaches 550 metres on OM2 or OM3 fibre; beyond that distance the signal degrades and a single-mode or extended-reach module is required. The LC duplex connector fits standard SFP cages, and digital optical monitoring lets the host device track received power, temperature and voltage in real time.

Rugged Build and Coding

An industrial temperature rating of -40 to 85 °C means the transceiver operates in unconditioned cabinets, outdoor enclosures or factory floors without throttling. MSA-compliant mechanical dimensions and Cisco-specific EEPROM coding allow it to initialise identically to the OEM part, so it can be mixed with genuine Cisco optics in the same chassis.
