This 10GBASE-ER transceiver delivers 10 Gbps over single-mode fibre using a 1550nm wavelength. It is coded for full HP J9153A compatibility and built to MSA standards so it initialises identically to the OEM module in routers, switches or servers.

Single-mode reach limited to 40 km

The 1550nm laser supports links up to 40 km on standard single-mode cable. Attenuation and dispersion beyond that distance will degrade the signal, so the module is unsuitable for metro or long-haul spans that exceed the specified reach.
