Desktop for everyday gaming and office work

The BTO BX2 desktop pairs a 3.40 GHz Intel Core i5-7500 processor with 16 GB of DDR4 memory and an NVIDIA GeForce GT 1030 graphics card. It ships with Windows 10 Pro installed and includes an RGB keyboard and mouse. This system targets users who want a ready-to-use machine for 1080p media, light gaming and general productivity.

Upgrade path from older dual-core

Replacing a system that relies on integrated graphics or an ageing dual-core CPU yields a noticeable jump in multitasking responsiveness and frame rates at modest settings. The 128 GB SSD accelerates boot and application launch compared to a mechanical drive alone. The improvement is worthwhile when moving from hardware that struggles with current operating systems and modern web workloads.

128 GB SSD plus 1 TB HDD for mixed storage needs

The solid-state drive holds the operating system and a handful of frequently used programs, while the 1 TB hard drive provides room for documents, media libraries and larger game installs. The GT 1030 with GDDR5 memory handles esports titles and older games at 1080p low-to-medium settings. Demanding modern AAA titles and heavy content-creation workloads will exceed the available graphics and compute headroom.

Questions about this item

Will the small-form-factor chassis accept a full-height graphics card?

The BX2 uses a compact OptiPlex chassis that only fits low-profile cards; the installed GT 1030 is already low-profile.

What is the correct order to connect the RGB keyboard and mouse during first boot?

Plug both USB receivers into the rear USB 3.0 ports before powering on so Windows 10 Pro detects them immediately.

When should the 128 GB SSD be replaced to keep boot times fast?

Plan a replacement once the SSD reaches roughly 80 % capacity or after several years of heavy write cycles.
