Cooling Boonie Cap for Outdoor Activities

This BuiltCool boonie cap uses a hollow-core polyester weave that absorbs and spreads water to lower fabric temperature. Wet the material, wring it out, and snap it to activate the cooling effect for fishing, camping, kayaking, or hiking. A mesh vent covers the rear half of the crown and a moisture-wicking sweatband lines the interior.

Upgrade from Standard Sun Hats

Unlike basic caps that only provide shade, this model adds active evaporative cooling that can drop fabric temperature up to 30 degrees below body temperature. The jump is worth it when prolonged heat exposure makes passive ventilation insufficient and you need repeatable, water-activated relief without power or chemicals.

L/XL 63cm Fit with Mesh Ventilation

The Large/X-Large size fits a 63cm head circumference per the 2021 updated sizing. Five bar tacks secure the rear flap while the mesh vent and sweatband manage airflow and perspiration. Hand-wash only care maintains the 100% polyester construction. Buyers needing a smaller 60cm M/L fit or a full neck shade attachment should look elsewhere.
