Dual-hole aluminum compression lug for 400 kcmil conductors, rated to 35 kV and 194 °F with CSA and UL certification
This Burndy AL compression terminal is a commercial-grade lug built for aluminum and copper conductors. It accepts a single stranded copper wire size of 400 kcmil and fits a 1/2 in stud with a 1.75 in hole center-to-center spacing. The straight tongue measures 1.62 in wide and carries a green color code with die code 472.
The jump is worth it when a project demands a crimp termination rated to 35 kV and a maximum operating temperature of 194 Degrees F. It meets CSA Certified, UL 486A-486B and UL Listed standards, replacing hardware that lacks those certifications or cannot handle the same voltage and temperature envelope.
The barrel is sized for exactly 400 kcmil stranded copper, so it comfortably handles that gauge without over- or under-crimping. It runs out when the conductor exceeds 400 kcmil, requires an angled tongue, needs an inspection hole, or calls for a different stud size or hole spacing.
