Copper Compression Lug for 1/0 AWG
This Burndy copper compression lug accepts 1/0 AWG and 2/0 AWG solid or stranded wire. The belled straight barrel eases conductor insertion and carries a black colour code with die code 1. It is UL listed to UL 486A-486B and CSA certified for commercial electrical installations. The tin-plated finish protects the copper contact surfaces.
Suits panels using a single 3/8 in stud
Electricians terminating 1/0 AWG or 2/0 AWG copper conductors on a 3/8 inch stud will find the single-hole design a direct fit. The standard barrel length of 2.400 inches matches common crimp tooling rated for die code 1. Builders needing multi-hole patterns, larger stud sizes or aluminium conductor compatibility should look at other connector styles.
Rated for 35 kV maximum voltage
The lug withstands up to 35 kV and a maximum operating temperature of 194 degrees Fahrenheit. These ratings define the insulation and thermal limits for the connection in commercial power distribution. Verify that the system voltage and ambient conditions stay within these boundaries before specifying the part.

Questions about this item
Does the copper lug get hot or draw power when current runs through it all day?
The lug is a passive copper connector rated for 35 kV and a maximum operating temperature of 194 °F; it generates no heat of its own and consumes no power.
What crimping die and wire preparation are needed to install this 1/0 AWG lug?
Use a die coded 1 or 020 on stranded or solid copper wire sized 1/0 AWG or 2/0 AWG; the belled barrel eases wire insertion before compression.
Will the tin-plated barrel corrode when joined to older bare-copper bus bars?
The tin contact finish protects the copper barrel from oxidation and is compatible with existing copper bus hardware in commercial installations.
