A 7.500 in aluminium inline splice reducer joins 1/0 to 3/0 AWG copper or aluminium conductors with two hex-set ports, rated 600 V and 194 °F, UL 486A/B listed and RoHS compliant
This Burndy connector joins or transitions aluminium and copper conductors rated up to 600 V. The two-port inline body accepts stranded copper from 1/0 AWG to 3/0 AWG and is listed to UL 486A and UL 486B for direct-burial applications. RoHS compliant construction suits utility, commercial and residential grounding or power-distribution work.
Plastisol insulation carries a UL 94 V-0 flammability rating and withstands continuous temperatures up to 194 °F. The unplated aluminium body dissipates heat through its mass without fans or moving parts, so audible noise is absent and no power is consumed by the splice itself. Hex-head set screws secure each conductor with a 3/16 in drive.
Under continuous rated current the connector remains within its 194 °F temperature limit thanks to the low-resistance aluminium interface and V-0 rated insulation. The direct-burial listing confirms long-term mechanical and environmental integrity in soil or wet locations. Installers should torque each port to the manufacturer’s specification for reliable performance over the service life.

Strip each conductor to the proper length, insert fully into both ports, then torque the 3/16 in hex screws to the manufacturer's specified value; the step most often missed is verifying full conductor insertion before tightening.
Periodically inspect the unplated aluminum body and Plastisol insulation for corrosion, cracking, or overheating signs; replace the connector if the V-0 rated insulation shows degradation or if connections become loose.
The 194 °F maximum operating temperature is the first limit reached under continuous current; exceeding it risks insulation breakdown and connection failure at the 600 V rating.
