Two-Hole Copper Lug
The Burndy YA3CL2TC14 is a compression lug designed for 3 AWG stranded copper conductors. Its two-hole tongue accepts 1/4 inch studs on 0.625 inch centres. The barrel is tin-electro plated for corrosion resistance and includes an inspection hole to verify full wire insertion. It meets UL 486A-486B and CSA standards for use up to 35 kV.
Sustained-Load Behaviour
The copper body and tin plating maintain a stable, low-resistance path when carrying continuous current at the rated conductor size. Crimp termination creates a permanent mechanical bond that does not loosen under vibration or thermal cycling. The straight tongue keeps the conductor aligned with the bus or terminal, reducing stress on the joint during long-term operation.
Thermals, Noise and Power Draw
Maximum operating temperature is 194 degrees F, so the lug remains within its thermal rating in normal panel environments. As a passive connector it generates no audible noise and draws no power of its own. The 2.500 inch length and 0.55 inch tongue width fit standard bus-bar spacing without creating hot spots from excessive resistance.

Questions about this item
How much heat can the copper lug handle during continuous operation?
The lug is rated for a maximum operating temperature of 194 degrees Fahrenheit, suitable for sustained electrical loads.
What crimping tool and die are required to terminate this connector properly?
Use a standard barrel crimp tool with die code 9, which matches the white colour code for 3 AWG copper conductor.
Will the 0.625 inch hole spacing match the bus bars on my existing panel?
The two-hole pattern has a 0.625 inch centre-to-centre distance and 1/4 inch stud size, a common layout for many panels.
