8x8 HDMI 2.1 Matrix Switcher

The BZB Gear BG-8K-88MA routes eight HDMI 2.1 sources to eight independent displays with 48 Gbps bandwidth. It supports resolutions up to 8K at 60 Hz 4:2:0, 8K at 30 Hz 4:4:4 and 4K at 120 Hz 4:4:4 with HDR pass-through. Every output includes automatic downscaling to 4K or 1080p for legacy screens.

Professional AV installers

This unit suits installers who need simultaneous distribution of 8K and high-refresh 4K sources across eight zones with HDCP 2.3 compliance. It is not for users who require fewer than eight inputs or outputs, or who need only basic switching without per-output scaling.

48 Gbps HDMI 2.1 bandwidth

The 48 Gbps specification determines whether 8K 60 Hz 4:2:0, 8K 30 Hz 4:4:4 and 4K 120 Hz 4:4:4 signals can pass without compression. If the installation uses lower-bandwidth HDMI 2.0 sources or displays, the full capability will not be utilised.

Questions about this item

How do I choose between the 8 inputs and 8 outputs for my setup?

The 8x8 matrix lets you route any of the eight HDMI sources independently to any of the eight HDMI displays, so you can build the exact source-to-screen mapping your installation needs.

What does the 48 Gbps bandwidth actually deliver on a real display?

It carries uncompressed 8K at 60 Hz 4:2:0, 8K at 30 Hz 4:4:4 or 4K at 120 Hz 4:4:4 with HDR, so the picture reaches the screen with no compression artefacts.

What does HDMI 2.1a with 48 Gbps cap in practice?

It caps the maximum uncompressed video rate at 48 Gbps, limiting you to the supported 8K and 4K formats listed while enabling VRR, ALLM, QMS, QFT and SBTM features.
