Single-Channel 1080p Streaming Encoder

The BG-HAVS encodes an HDMI source into H.264 or H.265 IP streams for direct broadcast to platforms such as YouTube, Twitch or Facebook. It also records to an NVR or PC without requiring a host computer. A 3.5 mm analogue input embeds stereo audio into the outgoing stream.

Gigabit Ethernet and Sub-Stream Limits

The RJ-45 port negotiates at 100 or 1000 Mbps and carries both the main and a simultaneous sub-stream. The main stream reaches 1920×1080 at 60 fps while the sub-stream tops out at 720p, restricting the second feed to lower-bandwidth destinations. Only one HDMI input is available, so multi-camera switching must be handled upstream.

Resolution Headroom and Encoding Overhead

Supported encoding resolutions range from 1920×1080 down to 640×360, covering full HD through common streaming ladder steps. H.265 compression reduces bitrate compared with H.264 at equivalent quality, but the single-channel design caps total throughput at the encoder’s 5 W power envelope. Builders needing 4K input or multi-channel mixing will need a different appliance.

Questions about this item

Which resolution preset should I pick for a 1080p stream?

Choose 1920×1080 for full HD at up to 60 fps; lower presets such as 1280×720 or 640×360 are available if bandwidth is limited.

What does the 1080p@60Hz rating mean when the encoder is live?

The device can ingest a 1080p signal at 60 frames per second and encode it in H.264 or H.265 for simultaneous streaming and local loop-out monitoring.

How fast is the RJ-45 port and what does that cap?

The self-adaptive Ethernet port negotiates at 100 or 1000 Mbps, so the maximum outbound bitrate is limited to the negotiated link speed.
