Ideal for Remote Work and Online Classes

This mini USB condenser microphone is built for laptop and desktop users who need clearer voice capture than built-in mics provide. It suits remote workers, students in online classes, and anyone joining video calls on Skype, Zoom, Slack or Hangouts. The omnidirectional pattern picks up sound from every direction, so you can speak naturally without staying perfectly on-axis. It also works with PS4 for casual voice chat.

Omnidirectional Pickup with Built-in Sound Card

The microphone uses an omnidirectional polar pattern and a 9.7 mm condenser element with a sensitivity of -28 dB and a frequency response of 60 to 12 KHz. A USB sound card is integrated into the device, so the computer recognises it as a USB PnP Sound Device without any driver installation. Power consumption is only 5 mW drawn directly from the USB port, and the unit weighs just 43 g.

Flexible Gooseneck and Simple Setup

Plug the microphone into any USB port on Windows, macOS or PS4 and select USB PnP Sound Device as the default input in system and software settings. The 360 degree metal gooseneck, updated in the 2021 version for better rigidity, holds its shape so you can position the capsule close to your mouth. No base or extra cables are required, and the compact 8.5 inch length fits easily in a laptop bag.

Questions about this item

What does the -28 dB sensitivity mean when I am speaking into the mic?

At -28 dB the capsule produces a strong signal from normal speaking distance, so the built-in USB sound card can deliver clear voice levels without needing extra gain.

What does the USB sound card actually do for the audio path?

The integrated USB sound card handles the analogue-to-digital conversion and presents the microphone as a standard USB audio device that works instantly on Windows, macOS and PS4.

How much desk space does the 8.5-inch gooseneck need to stay in position?

The 8.5-inch metal gooseneck bends 360 degrees and holds its shape on its own, so it only needs a free USB port and a few centimetres of clearance beside the laptop.
