A 10Gb RJ45 Ethernet adapter with Intel X550 controller on PCIe 3.0 x4, auto-negotiating speeds down to 100Mb and including both full-height and low-profile brackets
This C&N ST7381 network card adds a single 10GBASE-T RJ45 port to a PC or server through a PCIe 3.0 x4 slot. The Intel X550 controller auto-negotiates speeds from 100Mb up to 10Gb. It targets administrators who need 10Gb copper connectivity on Windows Server, Linux or ESXi hosts without fibre cabling.
A 12cm standard bracket is fitted and an 8cm low-profile bracket is included for slim chassis. The card fits any PCIe 3.0 x4, 2.0 or 1.1 slot with four lanes. Drivers must be downloaded from the Intel website or requested from the supplier; no media is bundled. Mac OS is not supported.
10GBASE-T reaches 55m over Category 6 cable and 100m over Category 6A. The PCIe 3.0 x4 interface provides 8.0GT/s per lane, capping theoretical throughput at the bus level. Features such as SR-IOV, VMDq, MACsec IEEE 802.1 AE and IEEE 1588 PTP are handled by the X550 controller within those bandwidth and distance constraints.
