Portable 5Gb USB-C Ethernet Adapter
This compact adapter adds a 5Gbps wired network port to any USB-C device. It draws power from the host and weighs only 0.04 kg, making it practical for travel or permanent desk use. The aluminium shell dissipates heat during sustained transfers. Plug-and-play operation works on current macOS and Windows releases.
Suits laptops without built-in Ethernet
Ideal for users who need faster and more reliable connectivity than Wi-Fi for streaming, gaming or large file moves. Not for buyers who want more than one network port or who require Power Delivery pass-through to charge the host while the adapter is in use. Older operating systems may need a Realtek RTL8157 driver update to reach full speed.
Requires USB 3.2 Gen 2 (10 Gbps) host port
Full 5000 Mbps throughput is only available when the USB-C port supports USB 3.2 Gen 2 or higher. The adapter automatically falls back to 1Gbps or 100 Mbps on slower networks. Compatible with Thunderbolt 3, 4 and 5 as well as USB4 ports that carry data. Cat 6 or better cabling and a 5GBASE-T switch port are also necessary.

Questions about this item
What USB-C port capability must my device already have to reach the 5000 Mbps speed?
Your USB-C port must support USB 3.2 Gen 2 at 10 Gbps or higher to deliver the full 5 Gbps Ethernet throughput.
Will the adapter fall back to slower Ethernet speeds if my router only offers 1 Gbps or 100 Mbps?
Yes, it automatically negotiates down to 1 Gbps or 100 Mbps when connected to switches or routers that do not support 5 GBASE-T.
How can I verify the adapter is running at 5 Gbps after I plug it in?
Check the link speed in your OS network settings; it should report 5 Gbps when connected to a 5 GBASE-T port with a Cat 6 or better cable and a USB 3.2 Gen 2 (10 Gbps) host port.
