USB-C to HDMI 4K adapter
This USB-C to HDMI adapter connects laptops and phones with a USB-C port that supports DisplayPort Alternate Mode or Thunderbolt 3 to an HDMI display. It supports resolutions up to 3840x2160 at 60 Hz for compatible hosts and monitors. Plug-and-play operation requires no driver installation. The white adapter suits users adding a single external screen.
Sustained 4K 60 Hz output
The adapter maintains a 4K 60 Hz signal during extended sessions when both the host and the display support that mode. The 2015 12-inch MacBook is limited to 4K 30 Hz by its hardware. Yoga 910 owners must use the white USB-C port for video output. Continuous playback of streaming services such as Netflix, YouTube, Amazon Prime and Hulu is supported.
Replaces basic USB-C video dongles
This adapter replaces simpler dongles that only offer 4K 30 Hz or lack Thunderbolt 3 compatibility. The step up is worthwhile when the host and monitor both handle 4K 60 Hz and the USB-C port carries a DisplayPort Alternate Mode signal. It does not suit devices whose USB-C ports lack video alternate mode.

Questions about this item
Does the adapter draw enough power to warm up during all-day 4K 60 Hz use?
It is a passive adapter with no active electronics, so it does not generate noticeable heat during continuous operation.
My laptop only has a standard USB-C port — will the adapter still drive a 4K monitor?
The USB-C port must support DisplayPort Alternate Mode or Thunderbolt 3; a plain data-only USB-C port will not output video.
Can I use this adapter with a 2015 MacBook 12" and still get 4K 60 Hz?
The 2015 MacBook 12" is limited to 4K 30 Hz, so the adapter will run at that lower refresh rate on that model.
