Active DVI-D to VGA Converter

This active adapter converts a digital DVI-D 24+1 pin output to a 15-pin VGA input on a monitor or projector. It includes an integrated chip so no external power or driver installation is required. The flat cable measures two metres and uses gold-plated connectors for signal integrity. It is suited for connecting desktops or laptops to legacy VGA displays.

Integrated Chip and Flat Cable

The built-in conversion chip enables a direct DVI-D to VGA signal path without extra power bricks or software. Gold-plated contacts resist corrosion and maintain stable conductivity over repeated insertions. The flat cable design reduces tangling and eases routing in tight desk or rack spaces. No audio or HDCP signals are passed through the adapter.

For DVI-D Source to VGA Display Only

Buyers needing a simple, driver-free link from a DVI-D graphics port to a VGA monitor at up to 1080p or 1920x1200 resolution will find this fit for purpose. It does not support reverse operation from VGA to DVI-D. It cannot transmit audio, so a separate cable is needed for sound. Content protected by HDCP will not display through this adapter.

Questions about this item

Will the gold-plated connectors or the flat cable need replacement after extended use?

Gold-plated connectors resist corrosion and maintain signal quality, while the flat cable design reduces strain; no periodic replacement is expected under normal conditions.

What resolution limit appears first when driving a display continuously at 60 Hz?

The adapter caps output at 1920 x 1200 for PC graphics or 1080p for HDTV, so that ceiling is reached before any thermal or bandwidth constraint.

How much heat or power draw should I expect when the converter runs all day?

The active chip draws power directly from the DVI port with no external supply, producing minimal heat and negligible power consumption during continuous operation.
