Mini DP to DisplayPort 8K cable
This one metre cable connects laptops or desktops with a Mini DisplayPort output to monitors, TVs or projectors that have a full-size DisplayPort input. It supports bi-directional transmission so the same cable works in either direction. The link is compatible with Thunderbolt 1 and Thunderbolt 2 ports on MacBook series laptops.
Bi-directional transmission
The cable carries video from a Mini DisplayPort source to a DisplayPort display or from a DisplayPort source to a Mini DisplayPort display. When using a DisplayPort computer with a Mini DisplayPort monitor, the monitor's Mini DP port must support video transmitting for the link to function.
DisplayPort 1.4 bandwidth limits
The DisplayPort 1.4 interface provides up to 32.4 Gbps bandwidth. Maximum supported resolutions are 7680x4320 at 60 Hz and 3840x2160 at 144 Hz. Higher refresh rates at 8K or resolutions beyond 8K are not supported by this standard.

Questions about this item
Will the Mini DisplayPort connector or the DisplayPort 1.4 plug wear out from daily plugging?
The connectors are built to DisplayPort 1.4 mechanical tolerances and rated for thousands of insertion cycles under normal use.
Does the 32.4 Gbps bandwidth limit appear before the 8K 60 Hz signal degrades on a 1 m run?
At 1 metre the cable meets the full 32.4 Gbps DisplayPort 1.4 spec, so 7680x4320 at 60 Hz remains stable without bandwidth throttling.
Does the cable get warm or draw extra power when driving 4K 144 Hz all day?
Passive copper construction draws no external power and stays at ambient temperature during continuous 3840x2160 144 Hz operation.
