What this cable connects

This 1.5 ft Thunderbolt 4 cable links two Type-C ports on smartphones, notebooks, tablets or computers. It carries data at 40 Gbit/s, video up to 7680 x 4320 and power delivery up to 100 W. The male-to-male design suits direct device-to-device or device-to-dock connections without extra adapters.

Bandwidth and length limits

The 40 Gbit/s rate is guaranteed only at this 1.5 ft length; longer passive cables drop to lower speeds. DisplayPort 2.1 alt-mode enables 8K on one screen or 4K on two screens, but the host and display must both support the standard. Shielding protects signal integrity, yet the short reach restricts desk layouts where ports are far apart.

Replacing slower or shorter cables

It upgrades from older USB-C cables limited to 10 or 20 Gbit/s and lower power delivery. The jump is worth it when moving large media libraries, driving high-resolution displays or charging power-hungry laptops through a single connection. Buyers who need longer runs or legacy USB-A compatibility will require a different solution.
