80mm Front Plate Lens for RPM-GFX

The Cambo WHFR-80 is an 80mm f/4 front plate lens built for the RPM-GFX system. It uses a Rodenstock Apo design with seven elements and multi-coating. Weighing 355g, it suits photographers who want a compact, manual-focus prime for portrait or detail work on compatible digital backs.

Manual Aperture and Spacer Extensions

A manual aperture ring runs from f/4 to f/22, giving direct depth-of-field control. The lens accepts stackable WHF-7 and WHF-9 spacers, so you can extend the flange distance for close-up or technical applications without changing the optical unit.

Compatibility and Mount Check

Verify that your camera uses the RPM-GFX front-plate mount and that your digital back is listed as compatible, such as Fujifilm models. The lens has no autofocus, no electronic contacts and no built-in shutter, so your body must provide those functions or you must work fully manually.

Questions about this item

How often will the 7-element multi-coated optics need cleaning or recoating?

The sealed 7-element Rodenstock construction requires only occasional front-element cleaning; no internal maintenance or recoating is scheduled.

What stops me from stopping down past f/22 during long studio sessions?

The manual iris closes to f/22; that is the smallest aperture the lens mechanism allows.

Does the 355 g barrel get warm or make noise after hours of continuous use?

No moving motors or electronics are present, so the lens stays silent and at ambient temperature during extended shooting.
