Replacement battery for Craftsman tools

This Cameron & Co DS-CS-CFT700PW pack replaces Craftsman part numbers 6033-BH-BZ1P, 700113 and 7174806. It fits the 240.74801 power tool and is supplied new with 100 percent OEM compatibility. The green Ni-MH cell delivers 6.0 volts and 3.5 Ah capacity.

Ni-MH chemistry and voltage constraints

Nickel-metal hydride chemistry provides steady 6.0 V output without the memory effect of older nickel-cadmium packs. The 3500 mAh rating yields 21.00 Wh of stored energy. Users must charge only with a compatible Ni-MH charger to avoid damage or reduced cycle life.

Runtime for medium-duty tasks

The 3.5 Ah capacity comfortably powers drills, drivers and similar tools through typical drilling and fastening jobs. Extended high-torque work or continuous operation will deplete the pack faster, requiring a recharge or spare battery to maintain workflow.

Questions about this item

Is the 3.5 Ah capacity the only option for the Craftsman 240.74801 tool?

Yes, this pack is supplied as a single 3.5 Ah unit rated at 6.0 V and 21.00 Wh, matching the original specification for the listed Craftsman models.

What runtime can I expect from the 21.00 Wh rating in my tool?

The 21.00 Wh figure represents total energy storage; actual runtime depends on the tool's current draw, so a heavier load will deplete the 3500 mAh capacity faster than light use.

Does the Ni-MH chemistry limit the charge rate or charger choice?

Ni-MH packs require a charger designed for nickel-metal-hydride chemistry; using the correct Craftsman charger ensures the 3.5 Ah cells are charged safely and fully.
