Cameron & Co DS-CS-ICW320TW replacement battery

This Ni-MH pack replaces the BP-224 and BP-224H cells used in Icom IC-M21, IC-M32, IC-M2A and IC-M31 marine radios. It supplies 7.2V and 1800mAh for operators who need a fresh power source for existing handsets. The 12.96Wh rating matches the original specification for direct compatibility.

Ni-MH chemistry and voltage limits

Nickel-metal hydride construction delivers 7.2V nominal output without the memory effect associated with older nickel-cadmium packs. The chemistry is suited to intermittent transmit cycles typical of marine VHF use. Capacity will decline gradually over repeated charge cycles and the pack cannot be fast-charged beyond the radio’s built-in circuitry.

1800mAh capacity for standard duty

A 1.8 Ah rating supports typical shift-length operation on low-power channels with moderate transmit intervals. Heavy traffic or continuous high-power transmission will exhaust the charge sooner. Users running extended watches or lacking regular charging access should plan for a spare pack.
