Questions about this item

How long will the 5400mAh capacity last under continuous load before the voltage drops below 3.7V?

The 5.4 Ah rating delivers 19.98 Wh at 3.7 V, so runtime depends entirely on the iPad's actual current draw; the cell itself has no built-in cutoff above the nominal voltage.

Does the Li-Polymer cell generate noticeable heat or require active cooling when powering an original iPad all day?

Li-Polymer chemistry runs cool at the modest currents an iPad 1st generation draws; the slim 4.60 mm profile has no fan or heatsink and relies on the tablet's chassis for passive dissipation.

Which Apple part numbers must the original iPad already use for this DS-CS-IPD100SL to be a direct replacement?

The battery replaces Apple part numbers 616-0448, 616-0478 and 969TA028H, and fits iPad models identified as A1219, A1315 or A1337.
