Replacement battery for SportDog trainers

The Cameron Sino DS-CS-SD127SL is a 7.4V 500mAh lithium-polymer cell built to fit SportDog SD-1275, SD-1275E, SD-875 and SD-875E SportTrainer collars. It replaces the original SDT54-16749 pack and restores the 3.70 Wh capacity the handheld unit expects. Hunters and trainers who rely on consistent stimulation levels will find the voltage curve matches the factory specification.

Snap-in installation with polarity key

The pack slides into the collar housing and locks with the existing latch; no soldering or tools are required. The moulded housing is keyed so the connector only seats one way, preventing reverse-polarity damage. The most common issue is debris in the battery compartment — clean the contacts and the latch groove before fitting the new cell to ensure a solid click.

Fixed 7.4 V output limits high-draw mods

The lithium-polymer chemistry delivers a steady 7.4 V nominal voltage, but the internal protection circuit caps peak current to protect the collar electronics. Users adding aftermarket antennas or extended-range modules may hit that current limit and see the unit shut down under load. The 35.60 x 25.00 x 11.80 mm form factor also prevents fitting higher-capacity cells without case modification.
