Replacement Battery for X-Rite Coloreye XTH

This Cameron & Co DS-CS-XRT780SL pack replaces the A-BAT/X and GM17017780 cells used in X-Rite Coloreye XTH spectrophotometers. It delivers 7.2 V and 1.8 Ah capacity in a Ni-MH chemistry. The green housing matches the original equipment colour.

Thermal Behaviour and Power Draw

Ni-MH cells run cool during typical measurement sessions and exhibit no fan or active cooling requirements. Self-discharge is low enough for the battery to hold charge between field jobs. Normal use draws only the current the instrument requires.

Sustained Load Performance

Under continuous operation the 12.96 Wh capacity supports extended scanning without voltage sag. The pack maintains stable output until near depletion, avoiding sudden shutdowns during long surveys. Dimensions are 84.50 x 52.10 x 14.70 mm for a direct fit.

Questions about this item

How do I install the DS-CS-XRT780SL battery in my X-Rite Coloreye XTH, and what step is often missed?

Slide the pack into the battery compartment until the latch clicks; the step often missed is verifying the green label faces outward so the polarity contacts align with the A-BAT/X connector.

What maintenance will this 7.2V 1800mAh Ni-MH pack need over its life?

Recharge at least every three months during storage to prevent deep discharge; no scheduled calibration is required, but expect gradual capacity loss after several hundred charge cycles.

What limit appears first when the spectrophotometer runs continuously on this 12.96Wh battery?

Run-time is the first limit; the 1.8Ah capacity typically delivers a few hours of measurement sessions before the pack needs recharging.
