Compatible Sumitomo Battery

This 11.1V 2600mAh lithium-ion pack replaces the BU-25 cell used in Sumitomo BU25 Type-25 and Type-25e fusion splicers. It delivers 28.86Wh in a black housing measuring 81.00 x 60.00 x 20.30 mm. The unit is supplied new with 100% OEM compatibility.

Field splicing teams

Technicians maintaining compatible Sumitomo splicers gain a direct drop-in power source. Buyers who need a different voltage, a higher capacity or a connector for another splicer model should look elsewhere.

Build integration

The pack fits the splicer battery bay without adapters and requires no external charger beyond the device itself. Its 2.6 Ah rating supports extended field sessions while freeing bench space otherwise used for spare power units.

Questions about this item

Which Sumitomo splicer models does this 11.1 V 2600 mAh battery replace?

It replaces the BU-25 pack in the BU25, Type-25 and Type-25e fusion splicers.

Will the 81.00 x 60.00 x 20.30 mm pack fit the original battery compartment without modification?

Yes, the dimensions match the OEM BU-25 housing so it seats directly in the existing bay.

How can I confirm the 28.86 Wh cell is delivering full capacity after the first charge cycle?

Run a complete splice job; the splicer should report the expected runtime and show a full-charge indicator without early low-battery warnings.
