Replacement Battery for Nuvi 1490TV and 2585TV

This 1800mAh lithium-ion cell replaces Garmin part numbers 361-00045-00 and 361-00045-20. It delivers 6.66Wh at 3.7V and fits the Nuvi 1490TV and Nuvi 2585TV navigators. The pack weighs 39.0g and measures 60.00 x 41.90 x 7.30mm. A fully decoded chip ensures the device recognises the battery like the original.

Sustained Operation and Cycle Life

The cell is rated for 1800mAh capacity and reaches its best performance after two or three complete charge and discharge cycles. Built-in protection guards against overcharge, over-discharge, over-voltage and short circuits during extended use. The chemistry is designed for stable output across the full discharge curve rather than only in short bursts. Avoid low-quality third-party chargers to preserve long-term health.

Build Quality and Daily Handling

The pack carries ISO9001, RoHS and CE certification and undergoes strict specification testing before shipment. Shock-absorbing foam inside the package protects the cell during transport. Installation requires only connecting the supplied connector to the device board; numerous online videos demonstrate the straightforward process. Do not disassemble, expose to fire or water, or store above 60°C.

Questions about this item

Does the 1800 mAh capacity and 3.7 V rating mean the battery runs hot during all-day navigation?

The replacement cell matches the original 1800 mAh / 6.66 Wh specification, so heat output stays within the same limits as the factory battery during continuous use.

What must I already own to install this replacement battery in my Garmin Nuvi 1490TV or 2585TV?

You need the compatible Garmin navigator (Nuvi 1490TV or 2585TV) and basic tools to open the case and reconnect the internal connector.

Will this 60.00 × 41.90 × 7.30 mm battery fit the same compartment as the original Garmin 361-00045-00 or 361-00045-20 part?

Yes, the dimensions and connector are built to the exact specifications of the original Garmin part numbers, so it seats in the existing battery bay without modification.
