Direct replacement for BrailleNote

This 4850 mAh lithium-ion pack matches the original 3.7 V specification and fits the 99.80 x 59.90 x 8.60 mm battery cavity. It is built for owners of HumanWare BrailleNote and VoiceNote Apex units who need a factory-spec power source. Buyers whose device uses a different part number or voltage should look elsewhere.

Steady output through a full workday

The cell delivers its rated 17.95 Wh capacity under continuous use rather than only in short bursts. A decoded chip reports charge state accurately to the host device, so runtime predictions remain reliable from the first cycle to the last. Protection circuitry guards against over-charge, over-discharge, over-voltage and short-circuit events during sustained operation.

Straightforward swap with a few cautions

Installation follows the same connector alignment as the original pack; many users complete the change in minutes after watching online guides. The battery reaches peak capacity after two or three full charge cycles, so initial runtime may be slightly lower. Avoid low-quality chargers and never expose the cell to temperatures above 60 °C or 140 °F.

Questions about this item

Does the 3.7 V lithium-ion cell run hot during all-day use in a BrailleNote Apex?

The pack is built to the original 99.80 x 59.90 x 8.60 mm form factor with an integrated protection circuit, so heat stays within normal limits for a 4850 mAh replacement.

What must I already own to install this 06-8001 battery in my VoiceNote Apex?

You need the BrailleNote or VoiceNote Apex device itself and a small screwdriver to open the battery compartment; the connector matches the original BAPI-0004 layout.

Will this 85.0 g pack work alongside the original charger I kept from my older BrailleNote?

Yes — the voltage and capacity match the factory spec, so the existing charger will charge the new cell normally after two or three full cycles.
