Purpose and fit

The CameronSino DS-CS-MGP750SL is a 1800mAh nickel-metal hydride battery built for Magellan GPS 750M, GPS 750M Plus and Trimble Geo Explorer 2, Geo Explorer II, Pro XL, Pro XR and Pro XRS units. It replaces original part numbers 980646-02 and 17466 and is supplied new with 100% OEM compatibility.

Compatibility check

Confirm your device model matches the supported Magellan or Trimble units listed and that the original battery carries part number 980646-02 or 17466. The pack delivers 12V and 21.60Wh, so the GPS must accept that voltage and capacity. Physical size is 143.00 x 62.00 x 21.00mm; verify the battery compartment can accommodate those dimensions before ordering.

Build and daily use

The black Ni-MH casing weighs 650 and measures 143.00 x 62.00 x 21.00mm, matching the factory footprint for a direct drop-in fit. No soldering or adapter cables are required; the original connector aligns with the device socket. Nickel-metal hydride chemistry tolerates partial charging cycles, making it practical for field survey work where full discharge is not always possible.

Questions about this item

Does the pack contain only the 1800mAh Ni-MH battery or are cables and a charger also included?

The package supplies one black 12V 1800mAh Ni-MH cell measuring 143.00 x 62.00 x 21.00mm and weighing 650g; no cables, charger or mounting hardware are included.

My device takes the Magellan 980646-02 or Trimble 17466 part — is this DS-CS-MGP750SL the correct replacement?

Yes, the DS-CS-MGP750SL is listed as compatible with Magellan 980646-02 and Trimble 17466, fitting GPS 750M, GPS 750M Plus, Trimble 4700, Geo Explorer 2, Geo Explorer II, Pro XL, Pro XR and Pro XRS.

What runtime can I expect from the 21.60Wh rating in a Magellan GPS 750M?

At 21.60Wh the cell stores roughly 1800mAh at 12V; actual hours depend on the unit's power draw, screen brightness and satellite acquisition, so runtime will vary with usage patterns.
