Canon YMCK Thermal Ribbon for IX-R7000

The Canon 2495C002 YMCK thermal ribbon is an aftermarket consumable designed for the IX-R7000 card printer. It supplies yellow, magenta, cyan and black panels plus a clear overlay to produce full-colour, single-sided or double-sided identification cards. Each roll is rated for 500 single-sided prints or 250 double-sided prints, making it suitable for medium-volume badge issuance.

Upgrading from monochrome or lower-yield ribbons

This ribbon replaces monochrome or lower-capacity colour rolls when full-colour photos and graphics are required on both sides of the card. The step up is justified when the application demands photo-quality ID badges, membership cards or access passes at the stated yield. It is not for printers outside the IX-R7000 series, for users who only need single-colour text, or for environments requiring higher per-roll capacities than 500 single-sided cards.

Questions about this item

Does the Canon 2495C002 YMCK ribbon fit the IX-R7000 card printer?

Yes, the 2495C002 ribbon is made for the IX-R7000 and prints up to 500 cards single-sided or 250 double-sided per roll.

How do I load the ribbon correctly, and what mistake should I avoid?

Open the printer cover, insert the spool so the ribbon feeds from the bottom, close the cover and run a test print; the common error is loading it upside down, which leaves cards blank.
