What this cartridge is for

The Canon MC-G01 maintenance cartridge collects waste ink during printing and cleaning cycles on compatible Canon barcode and label printers. It is a user-replaceable consumable designed for operators who need to keep their device running without a service call.

Practical limits of the consumable

The cartridge has a finite capacity for waste ink and must be replaced once the printer signals it is full. Continuing to print with a saturated cartridge can cause ink to leak inside the mechanism, so timely replacement is the only way to avoid unplanned downtime.

What this replaces and when to swap

This item replaces the used maintenance cartridge already installed in the printer. The jump is worth it the moment the control panel shows a replacement warning or print quality drops due to waste-ink buildup.
