Canon DM-E100 Directional Microphone Bundle

The Canon DM-E100 Directional Microphone Bundle combines a shoe-mounted directional microphone with a 64GB Ultra UHS-I SDXC memory card and a suite of accessories. It is designed for vloggers, videographers and content creators who want a compact, wired audio solution that attaches directly to a compatible camera via a 3.5 mm plug. The bundle also includes a triple shoe bracket, sanitiser spray, cleaning kit, card wallet, card reader and auxiliary cable for an all-in-one setup.

Sustained Recording Performance

The microphone draws power from the host camera through its wired connection, so there are no internal batteries to deplete during long sessions. Its built-in windscreen reduces wind noise consistently in outdoor or high-traffic environments, maintaining clearer audio capture over extended periods. The included 64GB UHS-I card supports continuous write speeds sufficient for lengthy video recording without interruption.

3.5 mm Wired Interface Limits

Audio is transmitted through a standard 3.5 mm analogue plug, which requires the camera to supply plug-in power and a compatible microphone input. The wired link avoids wireless interference and latency but restricts placement to the length of the supplied cable. Cameras without a 3.5 mm microphone jack or plug-in power capability cannot use this microphone.

Questions about this item

Does the Canon DM-E100 generate any noise or heat when recording all day?

The microphone is passive and has no internal fan or amplifier, so it produces no audible noise or measurable heat during continuous use.

What camera connection does the Canon DM-E100 need to work?

It requires a camera with a 3.5 mm microphone input jack; the bundled 3.5 mm aux cable plugs directly into that port.

Can I keep using my existing shoe-mounted accessories with the Canon DM-E100 attached?

Yes, the included triple-shoe V bracket lets you mount the microphone alongside other shoe-mounted gear such as lights or monitors.
