EF 16-35mm f/2.8L III USM Wide-Angle Zoom

This Canon L-series lens is built for full-frame EF-mount cameras and covers a versatile wide-angle range from 16mm to 35mm. It suits landscape, architecture and event photographers who need a bright constant aperture of f/2.8 throughout the zoom range for low-light work and shallow depth of field.

Constant f/2.8 Aperture with 16-35mm Range

The fixed f/2.8 maximum aperture holds across the entire zoom, giving consistent exposure and subject separation from 16mm to 35mm. At the 16mm end you capture expansive scenes, while 35mm tightens the frame for environmental portraits. The minimum aperture of f/22 provides deep depth of field when required, though diffraction may soften fine detail at that setting.

Weather-Sealed Build with Ring-Type USM

A dust- and water-resistant barrel and fluorine coatings on the front and rear elements protect the optics in harsh conditions and simplify cleaning. The ring-type Ultrasonic Motor drives fast, near-silent autofocus with full-time manual override, while internal focusing keeps the lens length constant during operation. A rounded nine-blade diaphragm produces smooth background blur.

Questions about this item

Will the EF 16-35mm f/2.8L III USM work properly on my older Canon EOS 5D body?

Yes, the EF mount is fully compatible with all Canon EOS full-frame and APS-C cameras, so it will function on your 5D with autofocus and aperture control.

How can I verify the autofocus is performing correctly after mounting the lens?

Check that the ring-type USM drives focus quickly and silently, and confirm full-time manual focus override works by turning the focus ring while half-pressing the shutter.

What accessories are included in the box and what must I purchase separately?

The lens ships with front and rear caps, a petal-shaped hood, and a padded case; circular filters and a tripod collar are not included.
