Canon EF 50mm f/1.2L USM Prime Lens Bundle

This bundle centres on a fast normal-length L-series prime for full-frame Canon EF-mount DSLRs, also usable on APS-C bodies. It adds a 72mm three-piece filter kit, a lens-cap keeper and a cleaning kit to the lens, hood, caps and case supplied by the manufacturer. The combination suits photographers who want shallow depth-of-field control and a ready-to-shoot accessory set in one purchase.

Upgrade from slower standard zooms or f/1.8 primes

The f/1.2 maximum aperture gathers significantly more light than typical kit zooms or f/1.8 primes, making the jump worthwhile for low-light work and pronounced subject isolation. An aspherical element and Super Spectra coating reduce spherical aberration, flare and ghosting, so the improvement shows in edge-to-edge clarity and contrast rather than brightness alone.

Straightforward EF-mount installation

The lens mounts directly to any Canon EF-mount DSLR; the ES-78 hood bayonets on without tools and the supplied front and rear caps protect the glass during storage. The cap keeper attaches to the strap or hood to prevent lost caps, while the filter kit threads onto the 72mm front thread. Care is needed when cleaning the large front element to avoid coating damage.

Questions about this item

What filter thread size do the included filters fit on this lens?

The bundle includes a 72 mm three-piece filter kit that matches the lens front thread exactly.

How do I attach the supplied ES-78 hood without blocking the focus ring?

Align the hood's red index mark with the red dot on the lens barrel, then rotate clockwise until it clicks into the bayonet mount.

When should I replace the front lens cap or its keeper cord?

Replace the Canon E-72 II cap if the centre pinch tabs lose spring tension, and swap the keeper cord if the elastic loop stretches or frays.
