Bundle Contents

The package includes the Canon EF 70-200mm f/4L IS II USM lens, a 72mm three-piece filter kit, a lens cap keeper and a cleaning kit. The lens covers a 70-200mm focal range with a constant f/4 aperture. It mounts on full-frame EF DSLRs and provides a 112-320mm equivalent on APS-C bodies. Optical construction uses one fluorite element and two UD elements to reduce chromatic aberration.

Installation And Common Issues

The lens attaches via the standard EF mount and the 72mm filters screw directly onto the front thread. The ET-78B hood locks with a quarter turn and the LP1224 case stores the lens with hood reversed. Common issues include forgetting to remove the rear dust cap before mounting and over-tightening filters which can bind threads. The cap keeper tether helps prevent lost front caps during rapid shooting.

Suitability

This bundle suits photographers who need a compact, constant-aperture telephoto for events, portraits or sports on Canon EF DSLRs. The included filters and accessories add protection and convenience for everyday use. Buyers who require a wider maximum aperture for low-light indoor sports or shallower depth of field should look at f/2.8 alternatives. Users of mirrorless RF systems will need an adapter and lose native integration.

Questions about this item

How can I confirm the image stabilisation is active on the EF 70-200mm f/4L IS II USM after mounting it?

Half-press the shutter button; the viewfinder stabilisation icon should appear steady, and handheld shots at 200mm will show noticeably less blur than with stabilisation switched off.

Which items come in the box and what must I purchase separately?

The bundle supplies the lens, front and rear caps, ET-78B hood, LP1224 case, a 72mm three-piece filter kit, a cap keeper and a cleaning kit; extra filters, a tripod collar or additional hoods are not included.

Should I choose the f/4L IS II version or a different capacity for full-frame event work?

The constant f/4 aperture and updated IS give a compact, lightweight telephoto zoom ideal for full-frame events, portraits and sports; wider or faster alternatives would add size and weight not present in this model.
