Canon EF 8-15mm f/4L Fisheye USM Lens Bundle

This new Canon L-series zoom lens covers an 8-15mm focal range on full-frame EF-mount DSLRs and provides a 12.8-24mm equivalent on APS-C models. It produces both circular and rectangular fisheye perspectives with a 180-degree angle of view at the 8mm setting. The bundle includes a lens cap keeper and a cleaning kit for immediate care.

Constant f/4 Maximum Aperture

The lens maintains a constant f/4 maximum aperture throughout the entire zoom range, ensuring consistent exposure and illumination whether shooting at 8mm or 15mm. This fixed aperture simplifies exposure calculations when zooming during video recording or still sequences. Two ultra-low dispersion glass elements minimize chromatic aberrations and color fringing for high clarity.

EF-Mount Design with Included Hood and Case

Designed for Canon EF-mount cameras, the lens accepts the supplied EW-77 hood and stores in the LP1219 soft case. A Sub Wavelength coating reduces flare and ghosting for improved contrast in challenging light. It is not suited for photographers requiring standard rectilinear wide-angle correction or those using non-EF mount systems without an adapter.

Questions about this item

What does the 180° angle of view at 8mm look like on a full-frame sensor?

At the 8mm setting the lens projects a circular fisheye image that fills the frame with a 180° diagonal view, creating a rounded, highly distorted perspective unique to this focal length.

How does the EF mount work when the lens is attached to an APS-C body?

On an APS-C camera the 8-15mm zoom provides a 12.8-24mm equivalent focal range, so the circular fisheye effect at 8mm becomes a rectangular fisheye covering the smaller sensor.

Which front filter thread or cap size matches the included EW-77 hood?

The EW-77 hood is designed for a 77mm front thread, so standard 77mm caps and filters fit directly over the lens barrel.
