30.4MP Full-Frame DSLR Body for Professional Imaging

The Canon EOS 5D Mark IV is a full-frame DSLR body built around a 30.4MP CMOS sensor and DIGIC 6+ processor. It targets professional photographers and advanced enthusiasts who need high-resolution stills and DCI 4K video capture in a single durable body. The 61-point High Density Reticular AF system and native ISO up to 32000 support demanding low-light and action workflows.

Verify Lens Mount and Accessory Compatibility

This body uses the Canon EF mount, so confirm your existing lenses are compatible before ordering. The camera accepts LP-E6 series batteries and CompactFlash plus SD-type memory cards; check that you have suitable cards and spare batteries. Built-in Wi-Fi, NFC and GPS functions require a compatible smart device and the Canon Camera Connect app for remote control and geotagging.

Upgrade from Lower-Resolution or APS-C Bodies

The 30.4MP full-frame sensor delivers a clear step up in detail and dynamic range compared with earlier 20MP-class full-frame models or APS-C DSLRs. The jump is worth it when you need 4K video at 30 fps with 8.8MP frame grabs, Dual Pixel CMOS AF for live-view focusing, and expanded ISO 102400 for extreme low light. Buyers who only need 1080p video or lower-resolution output may not benefit from the added cost.

Questions about this item

Does the camera come with a lens, battery or memory card, or are they sold separately?

This is a body-only package; the 30.4MP full-frame DSLR ships without a lens, battery or memory card, so each must be purchased separately.

Should I choose the 30.4MP model or a different resolution in the 5D Mark IV line?

The 5D Mark IV is offered in a single 30.4MP full-frame configuration, so there is no alternative resolution to select.

What does the 30.4MP full-frame sensor actually deliver for stills and 4K video?

The sensor captures 30.4MP still images and records DCI 4K video at 4096 x 2160, with an 8.8MP still grab available from 4K footage.
