Dual Pixel CMOS AF delivers smooth, continuous autofocus during live view and movie recording. A 19-point all cross-type AF system provides precise focus through the viewfinder. The vari-angle touchscreen LCD enables flexible composition from high or low angles.

Enthusiast photographers upgrading to advanced APS-C

This camera suits enthusiasts who want responsive autofocus for action, wildlife, or video work without moving to a larger format. The 7 fps continuous shooting captures fast sequences. Built-in stereo audio and manual exposure control support serious video projects. Photographers needing 4K video, dual card slots, or a full-frame sensor should consider other models.

Questions about this item

How can I confirm the 19-point all cross-type AF system is locking focus accurately through the viewfinder?

Half-press the shutter button and watch for the red AF points lighting up in the viewfinder; the centre f/2.8 dual cross-type point should snap quickly even in low light.

What comes in the box and what must I buy separately to start shooting?

The body only is supplied — you will need to purchase at least one compatible EF or EF-S lens, a memory card and a charged LP-E6 battery.

Which video resolution and frame rate should I select for smooth 1080p footage?

Choose 1080 at 60p (59.94) or 50p for the smoothest motion; 30p (29.97), 25p and 24p (23.976) are also available.
