Compact mirrorless kit for content creators

The Canon EOS R50 mirrorless camera kit pairs a 24.2-megapixel APS-C sensor with the RF-S 18-45mm f/4.5-6.3 IS STM lens. It is aimed at vloggers and photographers who want a lightweight system that captures high-resolution stills and UHD 4K video. The bundle adds a 64 GB memory card, filters, software, a bag, charger, battery, card reader, flexible tripod, wallet and cleaning kit.

Sensor resolution and lens reach

The 24.2 MP APS-C CMOS sensor and DIGIC X processor deliver detailed images with room for cropping. The kit lens covers 18-45 mm with a variable f/4.5-6.3 aperture, suitable for everyday scenes and vlogging at arm's length. Low-light performance and shallow depth of field are limited by the slower maximum aperture, especially at the 45 mm end.

Included accessories and daily handling

The soft bag holds the camera with lens attached plus the 12-inch flexible tripod and small accessories. An external charger and LP-E17 battery support extended shooting sessions away from a power outlet. The 49 mm filter thread accepts the supplied three-piece filter kit for protection or creative effects. Buyers needing weather sealing, dual card slots or a constant-aperture zoom will find those features absent.

Questions about this item

Will my existing Canon EF lenses work with the EOS R50 body in this kit?

The EOS R50 uses the RF mount, so EF lenses require a separate Canon EF-EOS R adapter; the kit includes the RF-S 18-45mm f/4.5-6.3 IS STM lens which mounts natively.

How can I confirm the 24.2MP APS-C sensor and DIGIC X processor are performing correctly after setup?

Shoot a test image at full resolution and verify the file size matches 24.2 megapixels; record a 4K 30p clip and check for smooth Dual Pixel CMOS AF II tracking on the rear screen.

Does the bundle include a battery and charger, or must I buy them separately?

The box contains one Canon LP-E17 battery and one LC-E17 external charger, plus the 64GB SanDisk Extreme PRO card, 3-piece filter kit, Corel software suite, soft bag, card reader, 12-inch flexible tripod, card wallet and cleaning kit.
