Kit Contents & Intended Use

This bundle delivers a Canon EOS R8 mirrorless body with an RF 24-50mm f/4.5-6.3 IS STM lens, a SanDisk Extreme PRO 64GB card, a spare LP-E17 battery, an external charger, a soft bag, a flexible tripod, a filter kit, a card reader, a card wallet, a cleaning kit and Corel creative software. It is aimed at photographers and video creators who want a lightweight full-frame system that is ready to shoot immediately.

Thermals, Noise & Power in Normal Use

The camera runs on a single LP-E17 lithium-ion pack charged via the supplied LC-E17 external charger, so the body stays cool during typical stills and 4K 60p 10-bit recording sessions. No cooling fans are present, making operation completely silent except for the lens IS and autofocus motors. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity add negligible power draw when active.

Sustained-Load Behaviour

Extended 4K 60p 10-bit video capture or long bursts at up to 10 frames per second will gradually warm the sensor and processor, eventually triggering a thermal cut-off that stops recording until the temperature drops. The 64GB card can fill quickly at high bit-rates, so off-loading or swapping cards is necessary for uninterrupted sessions. A second LP-E17 battery is advisable for all-day shoots because the single included cell depletes under continuous heavy use.

Questions about this item

How do I install the RF 24-50mm lens on the EOS R8 body, and what step is often missed?

Align the red dot on the lens barrel with the red dot on the RF mount, twist clockwise until it clicks, then remove the E-58 II 58mm lens cap before shooting.

Which parts of this kit will need replacement first with regular use?

The LP-E17 battery pack will lose capacity over time; the SanDisk 64GB card may fill or wear out; the cleaning kit fluids will run dry.

What limit appears first when recording 4K 60p video continuously?

The 10-bit 4K 60p recording generates heat that can trigger an automatic shutdown before the card or battery is exhausted.
