Canon EOS RP Mirrorless Kit

The Canon EOS RP Mirrorless Camera Kit delivers a compact full-frame system built around a 26.2MP CMOS sensor and DIGIC 8 processor. It uses the RF mount for native lenses and accepts EF/EF-S glass via an adapter. The body is described as the lightest and smallest in the EOS R series.

For creators wanting portable full-frame

This kit suits photographers and videographers who prioritise a lightweight full-frame body for travel or daily carry. It offers 4K UHD video and an ISO range of 100 to 40,000 for low-light flexibility. Buyers needing faster continuous rates than 5fps or advanced video specifications should look at other models.

Simple setup with lens choice attention

Mounting an RF lens is direct, while EF/EF-S lenses require a separate mount adapter for full function. The 2.36 million-dot OLED viewfinder provides a clear preview for composition. Users should verify adapter compatibility for older lenses to avoid autofocus limitations.

Questions about this item

What RF or EF/EF-S lens do I need to attach before the Canon EOS RP can take a photo?

Any RF-mount lens works natively, and EF/EF-S lenses function with an adapter; the body itself has no built-in glass.

Will my existing EF lenses autofocus at the same 5 fps continuous rate on this 26.2 MP full-frame body?

Yes, adapted EF/EF-S lenses retain Dual Pixel CMOS AF and can shoot up to 5 fps, matching the native RF performance.

How can I confirm the 2.36 million-dot OLED viewfinder and 4K UHD video are functioning after first power-on?

Switch to movie mode, record a short 4K clip, then play it back on the EVF — sharp detail and smooth motion confirm both systems are active.
