Compact Travel Camera with 20.2MP Sensor

The Canon IXY 650 HS M is a compact digital camera built around a 20.2MP 1/2.3" CMOS sensor and DIGIC 4+ processor. It offers a 12x optical zoom covering a 25-300mm equivalent range. The body is slim and lightweight in black, designed for everyday carry and travel photography.

Suits Casual Shooters Wanting Zoom and Sharing

This camera fits users who want a pocketable device with longer reach than a smartphone and simple wireless transfer via Wi-Fi with NFC. It is not for buyers who need interchangeable lenses, larger sensors for low-light work, raw file capture, or advanced manual exposure control.

Simple Setup with Intelligent IS Stabilisation

Power on, insert a memory card, and the Intelligent IS system automatically selects the best stabilisation mode for stills or 1080p video. The 3.0" 461k-dot LCD helps compose shots, though bright sunlight can make framing difficult on any fixed rear screen.

Questions about this item

What memory card do I need to store photos and videos on the IXY 650 HS M?

The camera uses SD, SDHC or SDXC cards; choose a Class 10 or UHS-I card for smooth 1080p video and 7.2 fps bursts.

Can I keep using my older SD cards with this camera?

Yes, standard SD and SDHC cards work, but cards slower than Class 10 may limit burst shooting and 1080p recording.

How do I confirm the 12x optical zoom is functioning correctly after first use?

Zoom from the 25 mm wide end to the 300 mm tele end while watching the 3.0" LCD; the image should remain sharp and steady with Intelligent IS active.
