Canon Lens Hood EW-60E for EF-M 11-22mm f4-5.6 IS STM

SKU CH-CZWZ-J2JXJ

Dedicated hood for the EF-M 11-22mm f/4-5.6 IS STM lens that blocks stray light to boost contrast while shielding the front element from impacts and weather

  • Improves contrast by shading stray light
  • Keeps moisture and wind-blown debris off the lens
  • Protects front barrel from impacts with walls and door frames
  • Designed specifically for EF-M 11-22mm f4-5.6 IS STM lens
  • Does not interfere with autofocus or image stabilisation

Purpose and fit

The Canon Lens Hood EW-60E is designed exclusively for the EF-M 11-22mm f4-5.6 IS STM lens. It provides a dedicated shade that matches the zoom range of 11 to 22. Photographers using this wide-angle zoom gain a tailored accessory that supports everyday shooting.

Light control and physical protection

The hood blocks stray light that would otherwise reduce contrast across the frame. Its barrel shields the front glass from rain, dust and wind-blown debris during outdoor work. The rigid construction also absorbs knocks against walls, door frames and similar obstacles.

Integration with the lens

The accessory mounts directly to the lens front without tools and adds minimal length. Autofocus and image stabilisation continue to operate normally because the hood does not extend into the optical path. It leaves the filter thread accessible for circular polarisers or protective filters.

Questions about this item

How do I attach the EW-60E hood to the EF-M 11-22mm f4-5.6 IS STM and what is the common mistake?

Align the hood's mounting index with the lens barrel mark, then rotate clockwise until it clicks; the step people miss is forgetting to line up the index first, which prevents a secure lock.

Will the EW-60E need any maintenance or replacement parts over time?

No moving parts or consumables exist; simply wipe the interior flocking with a soft brush if dust builds up, and replace the hood only if the bayonet tabs crack from a hard impact.

What is the first limitation I will hit when using the EW-60E continuously in bright conditions?

The hood's fixed petal profile is optimised for the 11 mm wide end; at 22 mm the shading angle narrows, so flare control diminishes first at the telephoto setting.
