Dedicated hood for EF 8-15mm F/4L Fisheye USM

The Canon Lens Hood EW-77 is engineered specifically for the EF 8-15mm F/4L Fisheye USM lens. It provides essential protection and optical improvement for photographers using this ultra-wide zoom. The accessory attaches securely to the front of the lens barrel.

Stray light control and physical shielding

Under sustained shooting conditions the hood blocks oblique rays that reduce contrast across the frame. Its extended profile also deflects rain, dust and wind-blown debris away from the front element. The rigid construction absorbs impacts from walls, door frames and similar obstacles encountered during daily use.

Model-specific fit designated EW-77

This hood carries the unique designation EW-77, confirming compatibility only with the stated Canon fisheye zoom. It will not mount on other EF or TS-E lenses that require different hood profiles. Buyers needing protection for any other focal length or lens diameter must select the correct dedicated hood.

Questions about this item

Does the EW-77 hood add noticeable weight or bulk when the EF 8-15mm F/4L Fisheye USM is carried all day?

The EW-77 is a lightweight plastic shade that adds only a few grams and a short collar, so the lens balance stays the same during all-day use.

Which lens mount or thread must my EF 8-15mm F/4L Fisheye USM have for the EW-77 to attach?

The EW-77 bayonets directly onto the front of the Canon EF 8-15mm F/4L Fisheye USM — no adapter rings or filter threads are required.

Will the EW-77 vignette on an older EF 15mm F/2.8 Fisheye that I still shoot with?

The EW-77 is engineered only for the EF 8-15mm F/4L Fisheye USM; its petal shape matches that zoom range and will vignette on the fixed 15mm F/2.8.
